According to Naples Sunshine MLS, 23 homes actually sold that month. No doubt , August was a huge month for home sellers in the wonderful North Naples beach community of Naples Park. The average number of homes that sold per month over the past 12 months is 12. The sales for August 2011 nearly doubled that. This is a move in a positive direction.
Stay tuned for our last quarter of 2011 sales results. With season upon us we just might have a couple of back to back months like that of August 2011. That would really put an additional spark in the Naples Park real estate market.

It was not the highest priced home we have ever sold. In fact, it was the lowest priced home we have sold in our 10 year real estate career.
Yes, the dollar amount wasn’t so special. However, another element got our attention. You could say, these people found a soft spot in our hearts. Like Eydie would say, this one tugged at our heart strings.
The buyer is a lady we knew. We showed several homes to her a year or so ago. She wanted to buy in Naples Park, but the prices were a bit over her comfort zone. She wrote several offers, and kept getting beat out by cash buyers. These cash buyers would even win if her offer was higher. These particular homes were bank owned, by the way. Needless to say, this was very frustrating for all of us. The home shopping slowed a bit, and we kept in touch.
Now let’s fast forward to a few weeks ago, when we got a listing from this Naples Park gentleman. This home was small and modest. It was well cared for, with mature vegetation/ nice grass, and a nice fence that surrounded the property. And it had terrazzo floors. There’s also a newer roof, newer air conditioning, and a full house generator. In many ways this home had some real fine qualities.
The owner was a widower. He lost his wife to cancer years before, when she was a young woman. He kept the place up, made improvements, and then must have felt the time was right to sell. Two days after the listing agreement was signed, he was on the road, heading to an unread chapter in his life. We wish him well.
Do you know who bought this house? You guessed it. It is just perfect for our lady buyer. She is refinishing those terrazzo floors, painting the place, and making it hers. She is writing a new chapter to her life. We wish her well.
